Help shape Rhode Island’s wildlife future by joining RI DEM at one of these public workshops on the 2025 Rhode Island Wildlife Action Plan (RIWAP). Learn about the draft 2025 list of Species of Greatest Conservation Need and share your input to help guide wildlife conservation across the state. Together, we can make a difference for Rhode Island’s wildlife.

The RI State Wildlife Action Plan (SWAP) is updated at least every 10 years. The SWAP is a long-term strategy designed to protect and conserve wildlife and their habitats by identifying threats and outlining actions to ensure their survival. First completed in Rhode Island in 2005 and updated in 2015, the 2025 plan is currently in progress.
