I thought that Charlestown had only one individual to embarrass us completely to the core, but evidently Democratic Rep. Donna Walsh's husband, Henry Walsh, deserves equal credit. Without the support of any facts, he concludes based on Charlestown Council Member James Mageau's supposed investigation, that since Joan Lawlor was born after WWII, her father couldn't have sacrificed his life for our country as she had indicated in her letter critical of Mageau's involvement with representing veterans. How dare they dishonor any veteran this way. Joan Lawlor herself provided this clarification in a letter she wrote on Memorial Day in 2007 which can be found on the CCA website: http://www.charlestowncitizens.org/letters.html. Anyone who knows her, knows the truth. Neither of these men could hold a candle to her in terms of personal strength of character or conviction. And I doubt that it has been for lack of trying, but I guess they are both so desperate to discredit her often critical letters of Mageau, that they would resort to just about anything at this point. And they just proved it. What kind of so called "men" are these? Just think, they have turned off a whole voting block of people--World War II veterans. My father was a prisoner of World War II--beaten by the enemy senseless so that he has lost his hearing. Are you going to look into his record also to discredit him? And when Donna Walsh is looking for your vote in November, you will be wise to remember that these two individuals are perhaps her closest advisors. How pathetic is that realization?
